Cabbage Steaks

1 Head of Cabbage
2 tablespoons olive oil or bacon grease
2 tablespoons minced garlic
Spice Rub
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)

2. Cut the bottom off of the cabbage and sit it so that
the flat end is on the cutting board; cut into 1-inch
thick slices. Arrange slices in a single layer in a
casserole dish.

3. Drizzle olive oil over the cabbage slices and top with spices.

4. Bake in preheated oven until the cabbage core is easily pierced with a fork about 45 minutes.
